Strand Pattern Making Chalk adding a little colour to Melbourne
05 March, 2013
On Sunday 3 March 100 bike riders left a trail of chalk lines all over Melbourne’s streets. Scottish artist Jacqueline Donachie arranged a group of approximately 100 local bike riders to depart from five different locations in Melbourne – Albert Park, Docklands, Southbank, Carlton and Fitzroy. Their bikes were fitted with a device made from a PET bottle which literally drew a line in chalk on the road behind them. The end result; a beautiful pattern of multi-coloured chalk lines all over the streets of Melbourne, leading into the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art.
